October 5th, 2010The Nokia C7

The Nokia C7 was launched along with the E7, although the E7 was the star of the show the C7 did manage to attract some attention too but the C7 is the victim of an identity crisis. Its just there to fill the price gap between the high end phones and the low end ones. At a sleek 117.3 x 56.8 x 10.5mm the C7 feels good in the hand with its curved metal back cover.

The C7 has a 3.5 inch AMOLED multi touch supportive 640 x 360 pixels full touch screen. The screen has something called “Clear Black Display” technology which makes the blacks appear blacker on the screen and gives it a greater contrast ratio. But the screen has far lesser pixels then most of the Android phones out on the market. If you go to websites that let you compare phones you can find the best deal for the C7.

The phone runs the all new Symbian^3 OS which has been created to be more developer friendly so as to enable app developers to come up with more fun apps. There are three home screens each is fully customizable with either 6 widgets or 24 apps. Application wise, the user will be wholly dependent on Nokia’s Ovi store, which isn’t all that renowned for churning out cool applications.

Coming to the hardware you get an 8 mega pixel camera with dual LED flash and 720p video recording capability. Connectivity wise you get HSDPA, Wi-Fi b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth 3.0 and an FM transmitter which will allow you to play songs off the C7 via your cars tuner. The handset has 8 GB internal storage with the ability to expand via a micro SD memory card up to 32 GB. The C7 isn’t something out of the ordinary from the Finnish giants and will probably sell only because of its price and not because of its features.
