November 20th, 2009If You Plan On Buying The Iphone, What Are Your Reasons?
Now before I go more into my question, let me just say that I have nothing against apple, I love my mac.
So if you are planning to buy and Iphone, what are you’re reasons? Im extremely curious to know cause the way I see it, theres nothing super special about it. The only differences I can come up with at the moment, when compared to my current pocket pc(XV6700) phone, which is:
-much larger storage
-visual voicemail(which isn’t a huge difference anyways)
-all-touchscreen
-OS
other than those factors, my phone has the exact same features, or can be upgraded to have the same features.
So if you are planning to get one, why? it not only does the same thing as other PDA phones, its ridiculously expensive for what it is.
-at least $500 4 phone
-another $175 if you have to change providers
-probably phone bill will be at least $90 per month(data plan required from what Ive heard)
-figure in $30-$50 for accessories
-insurance(you’d be stupid not to at $500)
I only paid $90 4 my phone.

well, i know my dad is planning on getting it, when it comes out for a number of reasons.
He would like to do everything he does on his computer, when hes not in the office-with the e-mail, and internet. Also, he has looked at numerous other “smart phones” not only are most of them difficult to type letters in, but not efficient in that aren’t compatible with macs, so the iphone has everything going with it.

well, if I have the desire to buy the iphone , my reasons would be:
=it’s a revolutionary gadget
=it’s an apple
=it has a humongous screen =)
=it looks super cool

First off the multi touch technology was created by apple…so there is nothing else like…there are similar things but the Multi-Touch is the best working software/hardware combo out on the market. Second this is the first phone that runs true OS (it runs apple OS X) all other pc phones run Windows but it is a mobile version that restricts what can be done and what you can view. This means that it can use the full functions of html internet, no scaled down webpags on this phone…this also goes for full html email, just like on you desktop at home. Lastly it is just the fact that it is a sweet device that is at least 3 years ahead of any phone on the market.

I like the idea of having an ipod and phone in one. My phone never leaves my side, but I’ve turned around several times to get my ipod because I forgot to bring it in the car with me. I travel a lot and it sucks to not have good tunes with you when you need them. I also like the idea of real internet. If I’m lost, I can pull up a map, I don’t have to run home to get a number. My phone now has internet access, but I never use it because it is SOOO slow. Oh, and I’m already with AT&T and out of my contract, so that’s not a problem. Not to mention the fact that my neice broke my phone and I’ve had my card in my daughters for a month waiting for this stupid phone to come out. And my phone bill is already over $100 a month.
It’s really about how much it’s worth to you. I’m sure there’s things that you would pay $500 for that I would think was totally rediculous, but it’s worth it to you.

I’m buying the iphone because it’s pretty…I like the touch screen. My last like two or three cell phones/pda are all touch screen (Cingular 8125i and i-mate Jasjar). I don’t even use my phone for music, just phone and occasional internet. So, I really am just buying it because it’s pretty and it’s also thinner (and should weigh less) than my other touch screen phones.
EDIT: And it’s not that expensive people…My i-mate cost over a thousand dollars.
